Battle of the Bands off to a Hot Start

The University of Minnesota’s Battle of the Bands kicked off this Friday inside of the Whole Music Club. It was the first of four elimination rounds to select the bands that play at Spring Jam, a festival held on the UMN campus.

Round one of the competition featured Heliocene, Jonii Vee, Mayfly Moon, and Syncline. The four bands are all from the Twin-Cities region.

Syncline, the last band to perform at the competition, won the round. They performed a cover of The Backseat Lover’s Pool House along with a few original songs from their self-titled album released earlier this year.

Spring Jam will be hosted at Lot 37 in the University of Minnesota campus on Saturday, April 25, 2026. Three other bands will join them, determined by subsequent Battle of the Band rounds that are held every Friday of February.
